Gameweek 8 of the Premier League is here and with it comes another chance to participate in the [Fantasy Premier League. ](https://fantasy.premierleague.com/statistics) As you tinker with your teams ahead of the deadline this Saturday, here are some helpful tips on the types of players to keep in or add to your team based on factors such as current form and fixture difficulty rating.  **Goalkeepers**  **Neto:** Neto is the sixth-highest scorer among goalkeepers in FPL which is an impressive feat, considering he plays for 19th-place Bournemouth.  The Spanish shot stopper has already conceded 15 goals in seven games so far this season but that is mostly because Bournemouth have had a difficult run of games to start. With three easy fixtures ahead, but it gets better with three easy games to come (Everton, Wolves and Burnley).  This Saturday they go away to Everton, who are the joint-second-lowest scorers in the league and a Bournemouth clean sheet could be on the horizon.  After the Everton game, Bournemouth also have consecutive home games against Wolves and Burnley, meaning Neto’s next three matches have a fixture difficulty rating of two. This means he is likely to have good performances, making the Brazilian goalkeeper a bargain at £4.5m.  It’s a good thing BetKing offers high odds on the goals market for that game and no goal/goal (NG) between Everton and Bournemouth is available [at 2.15 odds. ](https://m.betking.com/sports/match/5643337/everton-fc-afc-bournemouth) Guglielmo Vicario: Tottenham are one of only two unbeaten teams in the Premier League so far this season and their new goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is a big part of that. Vicario has impressed since joining Tottenham for €20 million from Empoli. He has recorded two clean sheets for Tottenham so far and has a cumulative 29 points, the fifth-most of any goalkeeper in FPL.  The Italian will be in goal when Tottenham visit Luton Town in what is the first in a good run of fixtures for Spurs.   After Luton Town, Spurs also have Fulham, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Wolves and Aston Villa which is good news for Vicario owners, a good option a £5.1m.

● Bet on Vicario to help Tottenham to a win on Saturday @1.48

**Defenders**  **Joachim Andersen (£4.8m):** Most people favour fullbacks and wingbacks when selecting FPL defenders because of their likelihood of getting attacking contributions like goals and assists. Interestingly, Joachim Andersen, a centre-back, currently leads all defenders in this season.  Andersen has amassed 45 points so far with just six players accumulating more FPL points this season. Up next for him is a home game against Nottingham Forest and a chance to get some more points on the board.

● Bet on Joachim Anderson to help Crystal Palace to a clean sheet against Nottingham Forest @2.55

**Kieran Trippier:** With a price tag of £6.8m, Kieran Trippier is the second-most expensive defender on FPL. However, he justifies that by having the second-most points among defenders, two less than Andersen’s 45 points.  The right fullback already has four assists in seven games this season and could get more goal contributions in Newcastle’s game away at West Ham this Sunday.  West HAM are a team that’s in good form and will be hard to keep off the scoresheet. However, if Tripper can’t guarantee a clean sheet, we think he can inspire a goal the other way.

● Bet on both teams to score @1.58

**Matty Cash:** At £4.9m, Matty Cash represents great value as the fourth most productive defender in FPL having racked up two goals and an assist in seven games so far.  Cash has a 25.3% ownership rate which makes him a great differential considering just under 75% of FPL managers would miss out on the points he could rack up against Wolves this weekend where a clean sheet plus goal involvements is a very likely outcome.

● Aston Villa are favourites to win against Wolves on Sunday @2.17

**Levi Colwill:** If budget defenders are your pick, by all means, give Chelsea’s Levi Colwill a try. The £4.6m-rated 20-year-old has played every game for Chelsea this season and has amassed 31 points, which is the sixth-most among EPL defenders.  Up next for Colwill is a relatively easy fixture away at Burnley where a clean sheet should be all but guaranteed as Vincent Kompany’s side looks like a team destined for the drop.

● Bet on Chelsea to continue their renaissance with a win against Burnley @1.77

**Destiny Udogie:** Italian fullback Destiny Udogie is only 19th on the list of highest-scoring FPL defenders this season but he could be in for a big haul of points due to a favourable run of games soon.  Udogie will most likely be in action for Tottenham against Luton Town which means you can put him down for some clean sheet points as well as possible additions to his two assists this season.  After that, Tottenham will face Fulham, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Wolves and Aston Villa which means Udogie would be a good investment in the long run at £4.8m.

● Bet on a Tottenham clean sheet against Luton Town @2.55

**Midfielders**  **Son Heung-Min:** As the fourth-highest overall and second-highest-scoring midfielder in FPL with 51 points, owning Son Heung-Min is a good idea ahead of the weekend.  The Korean actually plays as a centre-forward for Spurs this season since they lost Harry Kane. This is an added advantage as he gets more points for scoring because he is rated as a midfielder on FPL.  After regaining his sterling form after a torrid 2022/2023 season, he’s likely add to his six goals scored so far when Tottenham play against Luton Town this weekend.

● Bet on Son to score at any time against Luton Town is @2.08.

**James Maddison:** You should have James Maddison in your team for the same reasons as Son. In fact, he migjht be the better option since he’s a cheaper alternative to the Korean at £8.0m.  The Englishman has a total of 41 points this season, is averaging 5.9 points per game and is a crucial part of the Tottenham team that has a great run of fixtures as earlier mentioned.

● Take a punt on a James Maddison goal @2.62

**Bryan Mbuemo:** Brentford star Bryan Mbuemo has blanked in his last three games against Newcastle, Everton and Nottingham Forest but his fortunes may yet pick up in the next game against Manchester United and their famously porous defence.  It also helps that Mbuemo is the penalty taker for Brentford which further increases his chances of adding to his three goals so far this season.  It’s hard to see United not at least score at home but we can also see them conceding several quality chances to Brentford.

● Bet on both teams to score @1.63

**Pedro Neto:** Portuguese winger Pedro Neto has enjoyed a superb start to the season, returning five assists and a goal in his last five Premier League games for Wolves.  Neto will most likely be involved when Wolves host Aston Villa this Sunday and will cost just £5.7m to add him to your team.  **Moussa Diaby:** French winger Moussa Diaby has taken to life in England like a duck to water for Aston Villa and has proven to be a reliable FPL asset at £6.7m.  Diaby has two goals and four assists this season in seven games and is a bonus point machine having picked up an extra point in two of the three games in which he blanked.  The explosive Frenchman now has Wolves in his sights and it is possible that Diaby will register at least a goal contribution against the home side. **Forwards**  **Ollie Watkins:** Watkins is the highest-scoring player in the FPL so far this season with 54 points, 23 of which came in his last game, Aston Villa’s 6-1 thrashing of Brighton.  The Englishman has now scored four times in his last two games having previously failed to score in the opening five games.  Along with his four goals, he also has six assists and has only blanked once this entire season, making him a valuable inclusion to any team for £8.0m.

● Ollie Watkins to score at any time in this game between Aston Villa and Wolves is available @2.70.

**Erling Haaland:** Last season’s highest scorer is currently number two on the FPL list with 53 points and it’s a no-brainer to own the big Norwegian.  At a 90.9% ownership rate, Haaland is the most-owned player in FPL history, and he will be leading the line as Manchester City visit Arsenal on Sunday.  If we go by the history, as discussed in [our weekend betting preview](https://m.betking.com/blog/betting-tips/weekend-betting-tips-arsenal-vs-man-city-brighton-vs-liverpool-more/), the Gunners could be in for a torrid time at home against Haaland and co.

● Bet on the Norwegian to return to scoring ways with a goal against Arsenal at anytime @2.20

**Julian Alvarez:** Alvarez has assumed a starting role this season for Manchester City since Kevin DeBruyne’s injury and has become the sixth-highest FPL scorer and third-highest among forwards.  The Argentine striker is a man in form and could register a goal and/or assist against Arsenal.

● Bet on an Alvarez goal in this game is valued @3.60.
