Last weekend, our online betting community got the perfect taste of why the HTUP feature is such a gem. Man City went into half-time ahead at Brighton thanks to an Erling Haaland strike, but they ended up losing the match. Anyone who backed City to win outright obviously lost their bet, but those who played the HTUP market on City still cashed in. That’s the beauty of this option and you can read more about how it works here.
Ahead of this weekend’s World Cup Qualifiers, here are our picks which include how to key into the HTUP.

Bulgaria vs. Spain

Bulgaria couldn’t have asked for a tougher start to their World Cup Qualifiers, kicking things off at home against European Champions, Spain. Since 2023, they’ve managed only 3 wins in 24 matches, with 11 losses and 10 draws. Those numbers don’t exactly scream confidence, and it’s clear why most people expect them to struggle here.
The last time we saw Spain, they were suffering a heartbreak in the Nations League final. Twice they led, but twice Portugal equalized and eventually won on penalties. For this game, though, a statement win to send a message is the bare minimum expected. Still, seeing as a Full-Time win offers a similar value to the HTUP, I’d lean toward the latter.
While Spain should win this comfortably, it’s worth pointing out that their recent games have been full of goals. Their last six matches have seen 29 goals, with 17 scored and 12 conceded. In fact, the Both Teams to Score market has hit in every single one of those six games. Their scoring is not surprising with the attacking talent they’ve got, led by Lamine Yamal. Also, even with Bulgaria’s struggles, they’ve found the net in five of their last six matches, so there’s some value in that angle. To play it safe, though, I’d settle on this being a high-scoring game and we have the best odds for that on BetKing.
Betting Tips:
Netherlands vs. Poland
Poland might not always make headlines, but they’ve had plenty of drama lately. Earlier this year, head coach Michał Probierz and Robert Lewandowski had a major falling out, which ended with the Barcelona striker losing the captain’s armband. Lewandowski then went on a self imposed exile, and even announced his international retirement.
Probierz did his best to steady things with two wins from three qualifiers, but he eventually lost the bigger battle, getting sacked and replaced by Jan Urban. Lewandowski came back, captaincy restored, but now he has to back it up with some big performances to justify that win off the pitch. Next up for them is a tough test against the Netherlands.
The Dutch haven’t lost to Poland since 1979, and looking at their current form, that run doesn’t look like ending. They opened their World Cup qualifiers with a solid 2-0 win away to Finland, then smashed Malta 8-0 with six different players getting on the scoresheet.
Among the scorers on the day was Memphis Depay whose brace took his international tally to 50 goals, levelled with Robin van Persie as the country’s highest scorer of all time. He’s just one goal away from holding the record outright, and this game feels like the perfect chance for him to grab it.
Betting Tips:
Slovakia vs. Germany
This game is deceptively tough for the Germans. The Slovakians aren’t pushovers, though that’s a hard claim to back up given their recent form. In their last six internationals, they’ve managed just one win (1-0 over Estonia) while losing four and scoring only three times. To make things worse, Lukas Haraslin has pulled out with a groin problem, Wolfsburg’s Denis Vavro is sidelined after adductor surgery, and Samuel Kozlovsky plus Dominik Javorcek are also out. Ivan Schranz and Laszlo Benes are battling stomach issues and will be game-time decisions.
Not exactly the setup that inspires belief, and yeah, I’m definitely not tipping them to win.
Germany, meanwhile, hasn't been convincing either… at least by their own high standards. Ranked ninth in the world, they’ve only won 12 of 23 games under Julian Nagelsmann (D6, L5) since he took charge in September 2023.
The defence has been a big concern, with just five clean sheets in their last 16 games and at least two goals conceded in every match they’ve played so far in 2025. That’s the form they’ll have to fix quickly if they want to qualify from this relatively easy group with no drama.
Even with those issues, I’m backing Germany on the HTUP market. They’ve got the stronger squad, and while Kai Havertz is out, Newcastle’s record signing Nick Woltemade is fit and firing. He scored six goals in five games at the U21 Euros this summer, and he’ll be itching to prove to the Magpies watching closely back home that their big investment was worth it.
Betting Tips:
Ukraine vs. France

Given everything happening back home, Ukraine has actually looked pretty solid in recent internationals. By their standards, at least. In their last eight games, they’ve picked up four wins and only lost twice. Goals haven’t been a problem either, with 10 scored and just one game where they failed to find the net. The Both Teams To Score market also jumps out here, as it’s landed in eight of their last 10 matches.
That said, they’ve got a mountain to climb against France. In 12 meetings with Les Bleus, Ukraine has only one victory, and that was in the first leg of a 2014 World Cup playoff. France flipped the script in the second leg with a 3-0 win to book their ticket to Brazil.
France aren’t an invincible side, having lost 3 of their last 10 games, but they come into this game as heavy favourites. This WC Qualifying campaign carries extra weight for Didier Deschamps, who’s already confirmed he’ll step down after next year’s World Cup. And if there’s one thing about Deschamps, it’s that the World Cup always seems to bring out his best, whether as a player or a coach.
Kylian Mbappé will naturally grab the spotlight, especially after starting the season with three goals in three games. But my eye is on Michael Olise. Since leaving Crystal Palace for Bayern, he’s turned into a serious threat; 20 goals and 23 assists in 55 matches last season, and already four goals in four this campaign. My bet of the day is he finds the net for France in this one, and you can get 3 times your betting stake from this alone.
Betting Tips:
Armenia vs. Portugal

This will be a really emotional night for Portugal, as it’s their first game since Diogo Jota’s passing. You can expect his teammates to give everything to honour him the way he would’ve wanted; by putting in a top performance. I don’t have any doubts they’ll rise to the occasion. Portugal comes into this on a three-game winning streak, highlighted by that incredible comeback against Spain in the Nations League final.
They’re loaded with attacking options too, from Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo to Rafael Leão, plus João Neves, who just lit up Ligue 1 with a hat-trick many are calling the best the league has ever seen. With Armenia on a poor run of four losses and a draw in their last five, this looks like a game Portugal should take care of comfortably.
Betting Tips:
England vs. Andorra
The big talking point is Thomas Tuchel’s midfield selections. Since taking over as England boss, he’s called up 13 different midfielders across just three squads. With the World Cup only nine months away, it’s clear he’s still searching for the right mix. So, this is definitely something fans will watch closely over the next couple of games.
As for this match, England have kicked off their World Cup qualifiers with three wins from three, all with clean sheets. When they faced Andorra away back in June, England won, but it wasn’t easy. They had 83% possession, 20 shots, yet only scraped a 1-0 victory thanks to Harry Kane. This one should play out differently with home advantage, and I’m backing Kane to find the net again.
Betting Tips:
Argentina vs. Venezuela

Scaloni’s side head into this one looking confident and in control. In a region where World Cup qualifying is usually brutal, Argentina sit 10 points clear of second-placed Ecuador after winning four and drawing one of their last five. What makes this team so strong is how every part of the squad pulls its weight.
The attack has fired in 28 goals, seven more than any other side, while at home they haven’t conceded in five straight games. The last time they hosted Venezuela it ended in a comfortable 3-0 win, though the most recent meeting (away) finished 1-1 after Venezuela grabbed the opener.
With top spot already secured, Scaloni has the luxury of either sticking with his regular starters or giving more minutes to the younger talents like Nico Paz and Franco Mastantuono, who are both in the squad again. Lionel Messi should get his 194th cap, possibly linking up with Inter Miami teammate Rodrigo De Paul, who’s kept his place even after his MLS move.
Sidebar: I wonder if that loss to Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup final is extra motivation for them in this game. Whatever lineup tweaks Scaloni makes, I can’t see past an Argentina win here.
Betting Tips:
Paraguay vs. Ecuador
This might just be one of the most intense Haram Ball showdowns of the weekend, and you can bet Mikel Arteta and Diego Simeone will watch with smiles. Ecuador sit second in the table, Paraguay are fifth, but just a single point separates them. That already hints at a gritty battle, but the stats make it even juicier… or painful, depending on your taste.
Paraguay have scored 13 goals in 16 qualifiers while conceding only 10. If you think that’s bad, check this out: Ecuador have scored the same 13 goals in 16 matches but have only let in 5. As good as Argentina’s defence has been, Ecuador’s numbers are almost double that.
Five of Ecuador’s last 10 games have ended 0-0, including their last three straight, and three others finished 1-0. No shock, then, that the last time these two faced off it also ended goalless. So yeah, I’m calling it early; my full-time prediction here is another 0-0.
Betting Tips:
Brazil vs. Chile

Brazil are big favourites going into this one. Chile are a shadow of the team that once won back-to-back Copa Americas and made Messi cry on live TV. These days, they’re rock bottom of the table with 10 losses from 16 qualifiers, 24 goals conceded, and very little to hold on to.
Brazil, meanwhile, might be sitting third but it hasn’t been smooth sailing. They were thrashed 4-1 by Argentina back in March, and since Carlo Ancelotti took charge, they’ve only managed one goal in two games, though they kept clean sheets in both. Up against a Chile side low on confidence and ideas, I expect the Samba Boys to finally open up and go for it in attack.
