Arsenal vs. Manchester City

Arsenal host Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday in a clash that, though early, could shape the title race. The Gunners have enjoyed a recent edge in this fixture, winning two of the last four league meetings (D2), as many as in the previous 22. City have also lost on their last two league visits to the Emirates, equaling their tally from the prior 14 trips.
Mikel Arteta’s men come into this one with momentum, winning three straight home league matches by a combined score of 9–0. Another shutout would give them four consecutive home clean sheets for the first time since 2021. Arsenal’s direct attacking game has sharpened too. They rank second in the league for direct attacks this season, a big jump from 11th last year.
Pep Guardiola’s side remain dangerous, but face some scheduling hurdles. They thrashed Manchester United 3–0 in the derby, but must quickly recover from Thursday’s victory over Napoli. They’ve lost five of their last seven league matches played immediately after European nights, including a 5–1 defeat at the Emirates in February. So, despite Arsenal missing Odegaard and Saka, their home advantage, defensive solidity, and fresher legs should tilt the balance in their favor.
Betting Tips:
Liverpool vs. Everton

Liverpool’s knack for late drama showed up again on Wednesday night as Virgil Van Dijk popped up deep into stoppage time to snatch all 3 points against Atletico Madrid. The Reds flew out of the gates with quick goals from Andy Robertson and Mo Salah inside the first 6 minutes and looked set for a routine win, but Marcos Llorente’s double pulled Atletico level. That comeback highlighted a growing concern for Arne Slot’s side.
Across their first 6 games in all competitions, they’ve managed only two clean sheets and have let in two goals in each of the other four. The late winners have been saving them so far, but if the defense doesn’t tighten up, it feels like their luck will run out sooner rather than later.
Ahead of Everton’s visit, Liverpool carry momentum and history into the derby. Their 0-2 defeat to the Toffees in 2021, is their only defeat in 28 Merseyside clashes at Anfield. In that stretch, they’ve drawn 10 and won 17, including the last 4 straight.
Their edge in this rivalry even extends beyond Anfield, with just two defeats in their last 29 Premier League games against Everton, plus 5 clean sheets in their last 7. Given how shaky the back line looks right now, banking on a shutout this weekend feels risky, especially with Player of the Month Jack Grealish back in form and running the show for Everton. Still, this looks like a game where Liverpool will come out with at least a point.
Betting Tips:
Brighton vs. Tottenham
Brighton head into this one as the slight betting favourite, though recent form doesn't really back that up. The Seagulls have managed just one win and two losses in four league games, while Spurs have picked up three wins from four and are coming off a “professional” Champions League opener against Villarreal.
That said, Brighton have recent history on their side, which probably explains the odds. Last season they did the league double over Spurs, their first ever back-to-back wins against the North Londoners. They’ve also beaten Spurs at the Amex in each of the last two seasons.
Still, Spurs won’t be short on confidence either. Frank’s side have looked strong away from home, winning both road games so far this season with a combined 5-0 scoreline. I’m leaning slightly towards Spurs here, but the safer bet might be to back goals since both teams look more than capable of finding the net.
Betting Tips:
Manchester United vs. Chelsea

It almost feels like fate, doesn’t it? Since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down, Man Utd have been hit with one gut punch after another. Chelsea haven’t managed a win at Old Trafford since 2013, so you can just picture the script: recently sold Alejandro Garnacho comes off the bench and bags the winner at the Stretford End then does his signature celebration on an advertisement board. BetKing has the best odds for that storyline.
This is a fixture that has delivered plenty of drama and stalemates over the years. It’s the most drawn matchup in Premier League history (27), with 14 of those at Old Trafford. United haven’t lost a home league game to Chelsea in 12 straight (W5 D7), a streak that goes back to 2013.
However, even with the highest xG in the league (8.3) and two wins in their last three at Old Trafford - matching the total from their previous 11 - United still look fragile. Amorim’s stubborn tactics have left them off to their worst start in 30 years, and many people think he’ll be out of a job by the next international break.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are coming off a 3-1 defeat at Bayern Munich that exposed some of their flaws. Cole Palmer was a bright spot, but overall the Blues looked second best. Still, Maresca’s side beat United 1-0 in May and are chasing back-to-back league wins over them for the first time since the Ancelotti years (2009–11). They’ve also taken two wins and a draw from the last three meetings, as many as in the previous 17 combined. João Pedro has been key to their good start, with 2 goals and 3 assists in the league, plus three goals in five career matches against United.
Betting Tips:
Real Madrid vs. Espanyol

Real Madrid will look to extend their perfect start in LaLiga when they host Espanyol at the Bernabéu on Saturday. Xabi Alonso’s side sit top of the table with 12 points from four matches, having edged Real Sociedad 2-1 last weekend before opening their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 win over Marseille. It’s now five straight wins in all competitions for Los Blancos, who boast the in-form Kylian Mbappé. The Frenchman has six goals in five games this season and 50 in just 64 appearances for Madrid. I have him penned down as an anytime scorer.
History strongly favors Los Blancos who have won 117 of 199 meetings with Espanyol, including 24 of the last 27 at home, scoring in each of their past 43 Bernabéu clashes at an average of 2.7 per game. However, Espanyol claimed a rare 1-0 win in February, their first against Madrid since 2018.
Manolo González’s men arrive full of confidence after their best start since 1995/96. Sitting third with 10 points, they’ve beaten Atlético, Osasuna and Mallorca, while drawing with Sociedad. A win would take them top. Still, they’ll be without suspended top scorer Pere Milla which, I feel, could prove to be the difference.
Betting Tips:
SS Lazio vs. AS Roma
Serie A serves up its first Derby della Capitale of the season this Sunday as Lazio host Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. I mean, they share a stadium so…nevermind. Always one of Italy’s fiercest fixtures, this edition carries extra intrigue with Gian Piero Gasperini taking charge of his first Rome derby since his summer appointment.
Roma go into this game aiming to rebound from last weekend’s 2–1 defeat to Torino and end a nine-year wait for an away derby victory, last achieved in 2016. Again, they share a stadium so technically they… nevermind. Roma are unbeaten in the last four league derbies (W2 D2), conceding just once in that stretch. They will be without some key players as Paulo Dybala remains a doubt after picking up a knock, while Leon Bailey is still sidelined.
Lazio are also coming off a loss, having fallen 2–1 to Sassuolo. Maurizio Sarri’s side has now lost three of their last four league games, as many as in their previous 21, and could suffer three defeats in their opening four Serie A matches for only the third time in 50 years. Even so, they boast an impressive run of eight straight home derbies without defeat (W4 D4). I know, I won’t mention they share a stadium and technically they… nevermind.
With city pride and vital points on the line, Sunday’s showdown promises all the tension and drama expected from Rome’s most volatile rivalry. I’m going with a draw here.
Betting Tips:
Marseille vs. PSG

Le Classique returns on Sunday as Marseille hosts Paris Saint-Germain in the 110th meeting between French football’s fiercest rivals. PSG are coming off a comfortable 4-0 win over Atalanta in the Champions League while Marseille were ahead at the Santiago Bernabeu, but somehow lost that game despite Real Madrid being reduced to 10-men for the last 18 mins.
Historically, PSG hold the upper hand in this fixture with 52 wins to Marseille’s 34, alongside 23 draws, and recent history has been even more one-sided. Marseille are winless in their last 12 home Ligue 1 clashes with PSG (D3 L9) - their longest drought against any opponent - and haven’t scored in any of the last six. However, De Zerbi’s men have shown signs of revival. A 4–0 victory over Lorient last weekend lifted spirits, and another clean sheet would give Marseille back-to-back shutouts in Ligue 1 for the first time since December 2023. They also come into this fixture on a run of six consecutive home league victories, their best streak since Marcelo Bielsa’s 2014/15 side.
PSG, meanwhile, are looking to extend their perfect start under Luis Enrique. Four wins from four have them top of the table, and a fifth would mark the fourth time in nine years they’ve opened a Ligue 1 season with such momentum.
Betting Tips:
Barcelona vs. Getafe

Barcelona return to action on Sunday aiming to extend their strong start when they face a confident Getafe side. They remain unbeaten at home against the visitors in LaLiga, winning 16 and drawing 4 of 20 encounters. They’ve also kept clean sheets in their last three home meetings with Getafe and could equal their best streak of four, set between 2015 and 2019.
Flick’s men have been ruthless in attack, scoring in 24 straight league games and finding the net 64 times in 2025 - second only to Bayern Munich across Europe’s top five leagues. That firepower, led by Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, has kept Barcelona firmly among the early title pacesetters. Lamine Yamal missed the last two games through injury but Marcus Rashford's statement brace in Thursday's win at Newcastle is proof they have enough cover.
Getafe, though, come in riding their best-ever start to a LaLiga campaign. José Bordalás’ side has picked up 9 points from their first four matches (W3 L1), including impressive away wins against Celta Vigo and Sevilla that underline their growing resilience. They’ve also claimed points in five of their last ten clashes with Barcelona, already a marked improvement compared to their previous record. Still, with history, firepower, home advantage and form on their side, Barça enter as clear favorites.
Betting Tips:
Hoffenheim vs. Bayern Munich

Off the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Chelsea in the Champions League, Bayern Munich travel to Hoffenheim on Saturday looking to maintain their flying start to the Bundesliga season. The champions crushed this fixture last term, winning both meetings by a combined 9–0, the worst single-season record Hoffenheim have ever endured against one opponent.
Vincent Kompany’s side have picked up where they left off, opening the new campaign with three straight wins, setting a Bundesliga record by achieving that feat for the fourth consecutive year. Bayern have been ruthless in attack, scoring 14 times in three games, just one shy of their all-time best start in 2022/23. Their away form is equally impressive: unbeaten in 10 league trips (W7 D3), with at least three goals scored in each of their last five, tying another Bundesliga record.
Then there’s Harry Kane. The Englishman scored a brace against Chelsea on Wednesday to take his season tally to 10 goals. Honestly, when season start sef wey pesin don already net 10 goals? Anyway, our online betting community already knows where I’m going with this… “Harry Kane Anytime Scorer”. Lock it in.
Hoffenheim, meanwhile, are unpredictable. They’ve won two of their last three outings but have managed only one win in their last 12 home games. Currently on a three-match losing streak at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, they risk equalling their longest-ever run of home defeats. Defensive frailties continue to plague them too. In 2025, they’ve kept just two clean sheets and conceded a league-high 46 goals. This season, they’ve conceded 6 times in 3 games. Feels like an invitation for Harry Kane.
Betting Tips:
Bournemouth vs. Newcastle
Bournemouth host Newcastle on Super Sunday in a clash packed with familiar storylines. The Cherries stunned the Magpies 4–1 at St. James’ Park in January and are chasing back-to-back league wins over them for just the second time in history. Also, they are unbeaten in their last six Premier League meetings with Newcastle (W2 D4).
Andoni Iraola’s side have bounced back impressively from an opening 4–2 defeat at Anfield, winning three straight against Wolves, Spurs, and Brighton while conceding just once. Victory here would mark only their third-ever run of four consecutive Premier League wins, something last managed under… yup, Eddie Howe.
Antoine Semenyo has been central to their form, contributing five goal involvements (3G, 2A), the joint-most in the league so far, and you have to imagine he’ll be the go-to guy for the hosts.
Newcastle are juggling domestic and Champions League fixtures with Barcelona visiting St. James’ Park on Thursday before this trip. Howe has yet to beat his former club in six attempts (D4 L2), making this another tough test. The Magpies arrive with the league’s best defensive numbers - three clean sheets and the lowest expected goals against (2.1) - but haven’t scored in their last three away games, risking a four-match goalless streak for the first time since 2021.
My bet of the day is a Bet Builder tying a shot on target for red-hot Semenyo with a win for the Cherries - no thanks to a visit from Barcelona I expect to be physically and mentally draining for Howe’s men. At 3.10 odds, you get a chance to get over 3X your betting stake on BetKing.
