Pep Guardiola's men demolished Slovan Bratislava 4-0 in midweek Champions League action, and Fulham are the perfect opponents, given that City have won each of the last 16 meetings - the longest winning run any English side has managed against another in history. 

Fulham arrive at the Etihad on the back of some good form, and they have every reason to be encouraged by their own brilliant start to the campaign. 

After defeat on the opening night to Manchester United, Marco Silva's men have remained unbeaten in the Premier League (W3, D2), making this their joint-best start to a top-flight season. 

The Cottagers sit in the top six and could move into the top four with what would be a famous victory here. 

Full-time prediction: City are unbeaten at the Etihad in 49 matches across all competitions. Erling Haaland has 11 goals in 7 matches, and Kevin De Bruyne is fit again. 

Despite Rodri's absence, the smart bet prediction is a big win for the champions. 

Real Madrid vs Villarreal 

Real Madrid's 36-game unbeaten run (W25, D11) ended with a shock 1-0 Champions League defeat to Ligue 1 side Lille, prompting Carlo Ancelotti to call it a "huge wake-up call." 

However, last weekend’s 1-1 draw in the Madrid derby extended their unbeaten La Liga record to 40 games (W29, D11). 

The champions will be aiming to avoid going three games without a win for the first time since March 2023, and Ancelotti will expect a strong response at the Bernabeu, where they're undefeated in 28 games (W24, D4). 

Meanwhile, Villarreal have started their league campaign strongly (W5, D2, L1), sitting third behind Barcelona and this weekend’s opponents. 

They've scored as many goals as Real (17) and lost only two of their last seven head-to-heads (W2, D3). This trend points to a potential goal-fest. 

The last two meetings at the Santiago Bernabeu produced five goals each, with a win apiece, and Kylian Mbappe’s return to the starting lineup should see the hosts look sharp again.

The goalscoring form of Robert Lewandowski (9 goals), Lamine Yamal (5 goals), and Raphinha (6 goals) means Alaves could be in for a long afternoon as they look to curtail Hansi Flick's dynamic attack. 

Full time prediction: Barcelona have scored goals by the bucketload in La Liga this season and our bet prediction is for that trend to continue here in a big win. 

Brighton vs Tottenham 

Brighton started the season in excellent form, unbeaten in their opening five league games (W3, D2), but the walls came crashing down as they were ripped apart by Cole Palmer in the 4-2 loss at Stamford Bridge. 

The good news is that key man Joao Pedro is expected to return to the starting lineup. With the Brazilian alongside Danny Welbeck in attack, you always give the Seagulls a chance. 

However, they need to shore up defensively, having conceded eight goals in their last three games. 

Spurs, on the other hand, are in flying form, highlighted by their thunderous 3-0 win over Manchester United last weekend before following that up with a 2-1 win over Ferencvaros in the Europa League to make it five wins on the spin. 

Brennan Johnson is finally repaying that £50 million fee, with five goals in his last five games, and Ange Postecoglou’s men are starting to click at the right moment. 

Full-time prediction: Tottenham are scoring at a rate of 2 goals per game, and the last three meetings between these two sides have produced over 2.5 goals.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United  

The good times just keep rolling for Unai Emery's Aston Villa, and their 1-0 win over mighty Bayern Munich on Wednesday night was another reminder of how far they've come in just two seasons. 

They have now won six of their last seven games (D1), and a win over United could take them into the top four ahead of the international break. 

Despite their excellent form, this is one fixture the Villans have historically struggled in, with just one win against the Red Devils in their last eight meetings (L4, D3). 

However, with the likes of Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran in such great form, who can bet against them compounding Erik ten Hag's woes? 

Speaking of Ten Hag, the Manchester United boss is reportedly one bad defeat away from getting the boot, and it's hard to find many United fans who would sympathize with him.  

After a summer outlay of over £200 million, the Red Devils have started their season with just three wins in nine games. 

They were humiliated by Tottenham 3-0 last weekend and threw away a two-goal lead against Porto in midweek.

The manager desperately needs a statement win and performance, and I don't think they can produce that at Villa Park. 

Full time prediction: United are a mess right now and getting a win at Villa Park looks unlikely. Our bet prediction for this one is a win for Emery’s men. 

Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich 

Frankfurt come into this massive Bundesliga clash with huge confidence, courtesy of an impressive six-game unbeaten streak (W5, D1). 

The Eagles continued their fine early-season form with a 3-1 victory over Besiktas in Turkey, laying down a marker ahead of this clash. 

Star forward Omar Marmoush has been on fire, scoring six goals in his last six games to propel Dino Toppmoller's men to second in the standings, just one point behind leaders Bayern Munich.   

Meanwhile, Vincent Kompany's men will look to bounce back from their shocking midweek defeat to Aston Villa (0-1). 

Following a blistering start to the season (five wins, 25 goals scored), their last two matches (D1, L1) have been strangely flat, especially in front of goal, and that is a trend that will surely be reversed sooner than later. 

Full-time prediction: This won't be straightforward, as Frankfurt thrashed Bayern 5-1 the last time they visited the Deutsche Bank Park. Given this, we're backing goals. 

Four of Frankfurt's last five games have featured over 2.5 goals, and Bayern's recent loss to Villa marked their first scoreless match since late March – a shocking anomaly for Bavarian fans. 

Fiorentina vs AC Milan 

Fiorentina head into this weekend's clash with AC Milan on the back of a disappointing run of form, with just two wins in their last eight games. 

They played out a disappointing 0-0 draw against Empoli last weekend, another game where they defended well but struggled to create chances. 

The Viola are currently 11th in the Serie A standings with seven points from six games and need to get their act together quickly to avoid falling further down the table. 

Historically, they've found it tough against Milan, winning just once in the last six meetings (L3). 

Meanwhile, Milan will be eager to build on their recent impressive domestic form. The Rossoneri sit third in Serie A, having won their last three league matches, including a 2-1 victory over Inter in the Milan Derby.  

There should be goals in this one as Milan’s games have been high-scoring affairs, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last 10 Serie A fixtures, dating back to last season. 

Despite a midweek setback against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, Paolo Fonseca's men will be favourites to nick this one. 

Full time prediction: Fiorentina are averaging 1.1 goals per game this season, and that will not be enough to stop this Milan side, especially with Christian Pulisic in such fine form (5 goals in 8 games). The smart bet for this one is a Milan win and over 1.5 goals. 

Real Sociedad vs Atletico Madrid  

Real Sociedad's season has gone from a poor start to a serious cause for concern. Their midweek Europa League defeat to Anderlecht was their fourth loss in the last seven games (D3, L4), a far cry from last season's sixth-place finish. 

Their home form is particularly worrying, with five defeats in six games (W1), conceding two or more goals in each loss. Another defeat could raise uncomfortable questions about manager Imanol Alguacil's future. 

For those considering a home win, here's a sobering stat: Real Sociedad are without a win in nine La Liga matches against Atlético Madrid, losing the last three. 

Atletico, meanwhile, will be desperate to bounce back from their midweek 4-0 humiliation at the hands of Benfica – one of the worst results of Diego Simeone's era. 

The manager took full responsibility and has demanded a reaction from his expensively assembled squad. 

The visitors will be confident of turning things around thanks to their impressive away league record in dating back to last season, (W5, D2), with five clean sheets in those wins. 

Full-time prediction: We think Atletico could steal this one, but it's hard to predict a big win for a team that's won just one of their last four games in all competitions. 

We're backing the sensible option: a slim win for Simeone's men. 

Nice vs PSG 

Nice host league leaders PSG in the final Ligue 1 game of the weekend. Frank Haise’s men have blown hot and cold this season and will be desperate for a win to get back on track after the 4-1 loss to Lazio in the Europa League. 

Their Ligue 1 record shows some promise though, with two impressive victories - 4-1 against Angers and a resounding 8-0 thrashing of St Etienne. 

These results demonstrate Nice's attacking potential, but they urgently need to find consistency. 

PSG, meanwhile, will be eager to bounce back from their midweek humbling at the hands of Arsenal. Luis Enrique admitted his team was outclassed, but after starting the season with six wins and a draw, they'll be confident of rediscovering their rhythm here. 

Given PSG's impressive scoring record - averaging 3.3 goals per game this season - and Nice's vulnerability at the back, this game has all the makings of a goal-fest.
